Taylor Ledden is a fifth-generation Canadian born in Quebec and raised in Ontario. Ledden is a retired technical writer.

A few years before retirement Taylor became re-acquainted with woodturning. This was triggered in part by the gift of an old hand-made lathe, and in part by a long-standing love for unusual Canadian woods. These woods include lilac (beautiful purple grain), birdseye maple, curly maple, Manitoba maple, British Columbia yellow cedar burl, black cherry, black walnut, etc. He occasionally uses exotic woods such as rosewood.

Ledden's work is distinguished by close attention to finish as well as form. His completed pieces have a finish so fine that visitors are often moved to comment "It feels so smooth I hate to put it down!"

Ledden's turnings include natural-edge burl bowls, footed bowls, pepper mills and wine stoppers.

His home and studio are located in Simcoe County close to the shores of Georgian Bay.
