Rick Biggs

Richard Biggs started turning wood in 1998. It quickly became his passion. Most of his works are created with domestic woods indigenous to Ontario, such as maple, oak, poplar, birch and walnut. Occasionally he will use a piece of exotic wood if he finds the grain and colour exciting.

One of his favourite woods is Manitoba maple (also known as box elder) because of its unusual red highlights where branches grow from the trunk.

Richard's creations include weed pots, bowls and vessels of various shapes and sizes, platters, pot pourri containers, oil lamps, wine bottle coasters and corks, pens, salt & pepper mills, signature candle sticks and spinning tops. Salad bowls can be created in any size and can be personalized. All bowls are finished 'food safe'.
