Formerly an elementary school teacher and principal, Murray is a self taught woodworker who has built things all of his life. He has long admired the work of talented designers and skilled cabinet makers. Today, his captivating sense of design is perfectly matched by his fine cabinet making.

The look and feel of fine woods, both native and exotic, are a fascination for Finn. The colour, texture and grain offer myriad combinations. He loves designing and building boxes because of the mathematical challenges involved in the process. His satisfaction comes from solving those problems in such a way that the product is both aesthetically pleasing and functional.

Murray has won numerous awards and his work is shown in several prestigeous galleries throughout Ontario.
